Muenster’s historical old-town is a lively centre in which history and modern life intertwine. The “Prinzipalmarkt” with the “Lambertikirche” (St Lamberts Church) and the “Rathaus des westfälischen Friedens” (Town Hall of the Treaty of Westphalia) are just some of the historical landmarks of the city. These magnificent historical buildings are interspersed with modern architecture and contemporary works of sculptured art. It is also where you will find a unique selection of museums and exciting events.

At the same time, the old-town is a shopping-mile; many top-class shops and boutiques can be found here, especially around the “Prinzipalmarkt”. The “Muenster Arkaden“ – a new shopping arcade in the heart of the city, connecting the shopping streets “Ludgeristrasse” and “Rothenburg”, is also in close proximity to the historical “Prinzipalmarkt”.
